Special Practice Notes  –

Referrals:   New referrals require an appointment.  Ongoing referrals need a brief consultation.

Repeat Scripts:  Require a brief consultation.  Some doctors may write repeat scripts for a $5 fee.

Test Results:  Results are checked daily by the Doctors.  Patients should ring for results or follow any instructions from their Doctor regarding these tests 1-2 days after having the test.  If the Currumbin GP wishes you to return to discuss any test results,  please make a follow up appointment when leaving.

Medicare Cheques:  When returning Medicare cheques please leave statement attached, as this information is vital when receipting.  We request that you return these cheques as soon as possible, after receiving them to avoid account keeping fees.  Reply paid envelopes are available from reception for your convenience.

Practice Communication Policy:  Although most problems  are best dealt with in consultation, a Doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for advice.   Our staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice, or urgent advice, from a doctor.  Please speak to reception for further information elating to our communication policy.

Patient Feedback:  We would like to hear about your concerns, complaints or suggestions.  Please feel free to talk to your Currumbin GP or the Practice Manager regarding any issues.  We have a Suggestion Box at reception if there are any issues or improvements that you would like to suggest.  If you prefer any complaints can be put in writing and will be acted upon as soon as time permits.  If you would rather, or do not think that your complaint has been resolved satisfactorily,  you can contact the Office of the Health Ombudsman on 133 646 or in writing to PO Box 13281, George Street, Brisbane. 4001.
